FAQ

I am receiving a lot of emails in regards to my work, my methods and as to how i got established as a designer/director etc. I really appreciate the interest, and as much as i would like give everyone a personal answer or help out students with their inquries, I simply do not have the time to get back to everyone. Instead i have compiled this list of Q&As that might help you get some of the info you need:

Didnt´t you use to work under the name Plastic Kid? Why did you change that?
Plastic Kid is still my company name and general work umrella, but it was registed to me in 1999 and I simply feel that it has become a little dated for portfolio purposes.

Can i apply for an internship or come work for you?
Unfortunatly no. I am keeping things simple and flexible, moving my base around a lot depending on the project and client. So noone could ever keep up.

How do you handle more complex projects?
I work through a network of highly skilled individials and companies which allows me to adapt to challenges at pretty much any scale.

What are the biggest teams youve worked with?
On some of the bigger videos ive directed ive had more than 50 people working for me on the shoot and in the post process.

What kind of software do you use to create your work?
Everything starts with pen and paper. Then, depending on the project, usually Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, llustrator, After Effects, & Final Cut Pro. If i need additional tools that i am unfamiliar with, i just throw on ye olde working glove and learn.

Did you study anything related to your job?
Yes. I started working professionally after completing a degree in Multimedia Design in Copenhagen in 2002. In 2006, alongside working as an art director at In2media in Copenhagen, I took a degree in Graphic Design and was awarded with a bronze medal for my final exam project.

Why is so much of your work related to the music industry?
Ive been in bands since my early teens and touring extensively in the EU and the US has build me a network of bands, labels, and industy people in general. I get trusted with a lot cause i work from both sides of the table, both as an artist and someone working to please an artist. Several times in my life ive had to put work aside for longer periods to tour full time, but mostly i balance between the two. I started my carrer in both design and film making working for my own bands.

What bands are you in?
I used to be the singer of 'The Fashion' and 'Joyphilter'. Now im in ‘Hammonds, Harrington & Destroy’. Look us up!

Where do you get your inspiration from?
My family. Life in general, music, nature, meditation, bicycles, love, skateboard art from the early 80ies, classic punk and heavy metal record sleeves, art of the freemasons and really long days by the ocean where i live.

What artists do you admire the most?
Jim Phillips & Derek Riggs

How much do you charge for a musicvideo?
Depends on the idea and the artist, but I very rarely work with artists who have no representation.

Can i send you my portfolio and get tips or feedback?
My schedule rarely allows it, but if you do send me your portfolio, please send a link. Do not attach your work in an email!

Do you ever work non profit for charity or experimental projects?
Occationally if the project is right. As much as i gotta make a living i also enjoy networking and supporting good causes.
